Tiny good news, dreadful news, and praise God for his words

The jaw pain returned and settled down into a steady pain in one tooth, not very bad but definite, which turned out to be an abscess. The dentist said root canal, but when I proposed a course of antibiotics to see if that might work it made sense to him. And so far, it seems to have worked. After the cephalexin it started to act up again, then it got better, and I saw a certain lust in myself to give up and just assume the worst, and it has been OK since. The whole episode has made me have to look at things, which has been great.

Don't waste your sorrows, as the saying is - even tiny ones.

The news from Lebanon is agonizing to me. But as it is written, may the swords of the wicked go up into their own heart. May the very great sorrows of the Lebanese people at least not be entirely wasted; may the Lord fulfill His word (Habakkuk 2:15-17):

Woe to you who make his neighbors drink,
Who mix in your venom even to make drunk so as to look on their nakedness!
You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor.
Now you yourself drink and show yourself uncircumcised.
The cup in the Lord's right hand will come around to you, and utter disgrace upon your glory.
For the violence done to Lebanon will cover you, and the devastation of beasts which terrified them,
Because of human bloodshed and violence to the land,
To the town and all its inhabitants.
